Our mission is simple: lower the cost barrier of competitive figure skating so more kids can stay on the ice, longer.
Every skating parent knows the moment — your child outgrows their $900 Edea boots in eight months, and the custom dress from last season's program now sits in a garment bag. The sport we love is expensive. It doesn't have to be wasteful.
"There is no reason a family should absorb the full cost of boots worn for one growth spurt. Resale is not a compromise — it's smart skating."
— The My Skating Closet Family
A size 4 in one boot brand fits like a 4.5 in another. Girth is measured to the half-inch. Stiffness ratings determine whether a boot helps or hurts a developing skater. General apps treat ice skates like used sneakers.

Built for competitive skating
It started the way most good ideas do — with a frustration that wouldn't go away. We'd just spent the season watching our daughter outgrow her second pair of Edea Flites in less than a year, and a custom Sharene competition dress was about to move from the "worn twice" drawer to permanent storage.
We tried everything. Facebook groups. eBay. Local skating forums. Every experience was the same: buyers who didn't understand the difference between recreational and competitive equipment, sellers who undersold pristine gear because they couldn't explain its specifications, and parents who bought the wrong boots because nobody disclosed that a size 5 in Jackson runs narrow.
So we built the platform we always needed. A place where sellers automatically list the specs that matter — stiffness, girth, blade model, stone type — and buyers can filter by exactly what their coach recommended. A place where "Like New" actually means something because the community holds each other accountable.
My Skating Closet is not a side project. It's our contribution to a sport we believe in — and a community of families we're proud to be part of.
My Skating Closet was born in South Florida — rinkside. A warm shout-out to the training families and coaches across our home community who inspire everything we build.
Home to some of the most dedicated competitive skaters in South Florida. If you've trained at Ice Works, you know the early mornings and the community that comes with them.
A beloved training hub for recreational and competitive families across the Palm Beach corridor. The community here is exactly why My Skating Closet was built.
One of South Florida's most iconic ice facilities. The families training here inspired us to build a marketplace worthy of the dedication this sport demands.
If you train at any of these rinks — or anywhere across South Florida — you are exactly who we built this for. We see you at 5am patches and Saturday afternoon freestyle sessions. My Skating Closet is your marketplace.
We know the early mornings, the travel schedules, the coaching fees, and the joy of watching your skater hit a clean landing. This platform is our small way of giving back to a community that has given our family so much.
Whether you're buying your first competition boots or clearing out gear that's been outgrown, you belong here. Welcome to My Skating Closet.
Proudly built by a competitive figure skating family.See you at the rink.
